A new digital camera may change the meaning of bug-eyed. Inspired by the compound eyes ofcertain ants, beetles and flies, engineers have developed a digital camera that, thanks to 180 tiny lenses, is capable of panoramic views. Such cameras might soon bedeck tiny flying robots that could scour a disaster site for survivors or conduct otheraerial surveillance. When light strikes the new camera, it passes through a curved rubber compound lens about the size of a dime. The surface of the lens is actually 180 smaller lenses that guide the light to a layer of detectors at the camera’s back. Each lens gathers aportion of the scene and these segments combine into one panoramic image with everything in focus. Constructing the camera is relatively straightforward ­ and doesn’t require special materials, the team reports May 2 in Nature. While the lenses on the current version approximate the relatively low resolution achieved by a fire ant’s eye, the 20,000 lenses of a dragonfly eye should be doable, says study coauthor John Rogers of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaig ­n. Maha Shivaratri is celebrated with great devotion and religiousfervor by Hindus, in honor of Lord Shiva, one of the Hindu Gods forming the Trinity. The Indian Rebellion of 1857 began as a mutiny of sepoys of the British East India Company's army on 10 May 1857, in the town of Meerut, and soon erupted into other mutinies and civilian rebellions largely in the upper Gangetic plain and central India, with the major hostilities confined to present-day Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, northern Madhya Pradesh, and the Delhi region.[3] The rebellion posed a considerable threat to Company power in that region,[4] and it was contained only with the fall of Gwalior on 20 June 1858.[3] The rebellion is also known as India's First War of Independence, the Great Rebellion, the Indian Mutiny, the Revolt of 1857, the Uprising of 1857, the Sepoy Rebellion and the Sepoy Mutiny. Other regions of Company- controlled India —Bengal province, the Bombay Presidency, and the Madras Presidency—remained largely calm.[3] In Punjab, the Sikh princes backed the Company by providing both soldiers and support. What India has achieved over last 60 years?

India was reborn after the British finally left this country free. Don’t we say we carry our habits in our next birth? So is true with India. Even after her new avatar she just could not get rid of her habit of several thousand years. Her own habit of spreading deep knowledge has not gone. The developed countries today are trying to deal with war and terrorism by arresting and punishing the terrorists, the prisoners of wars. What is the result? With the end of one criminal thousands are born in retaliation. But, India as usual thinks and goes to the roots – the root cause of the birth of this terrorism and war. Why are more and more people turning to crime? When the ultimate lesson of all religions prevailing in this world is love; why more and more people are hurting others in the name of religion. Yes, India has all the answers. She always had. She always loved to share it with others. Man is the finest creation of God. He is bestowed with the best spiritual, mental, intellectual and physical capabilities that God could give to any of his creations. Why is it that more and more men not recognizing these priceless assets are trapped by some devilish, brutish ideas? India knows the so-called powerful independent people are all slaves – slaves of their own negativities. The people who take the path of hatred to restore peace are ignorant of their own being. India knows these people are totally ignorant of the power of their own angel spirits that differentiate between the good and evil, right and wrong. That is why she is not only spreading the message of self-realization to the Indians but also to all human beings. India cares for the Independence of all Mankind.. She wants mankind to be free from the cage of his ego and conditioning. India is not a piece of land. She is made of her people. All these 60 years, given the opportunity she is back with, what she has always been good at---- bringing enlightenment to the Indians and the people of universe. She is secular. She knows all religions (at the core) are the same. Meeting Buddha, emperor Ashoka gave up war and embraced peace and love. The preaching of Buddha was India. Mahatma Gandhi brought into practice the non – violence of Buddha and the whole world remained awe struck at his success. Today technology has made the work of India easier and faster. TV channels, websites, emails, cell phones, microphones, CDs, DVDs, fast transport facilities, and other such scientific inventions have helped the spiritual teachers to reach the masses in no time. Name a country in the world that has not been influenced by the spiritual knowledge shared by India. The preachers and the spiritual gurus of India are loved and respected all over the world. The disciples and seekers need not travel the high peeks of Himalayas to seek knowledge. The preachers need not go walking from one country to another like Buddha to spread their wisdom. I think the most significant achievement of India, in the past 60 years is the continuous effort to free all mankind, from the shackles of their negativities. Do we not remember the optimistic words of Jawaharlal Nehru “When the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom”? The mantra of India is freedom for all. JAI HIND

Astronomers believe that the Universe came into being about 13.7 billion years ago, in an explosion known as the Big Bang. In an instant,space and the building blocks of matter were created, and time began. From that moment, the Universe began to expand, and continues to expand today. Over billions of years, matter formed into large, complex structures that continue to evolve. TIMELINE OF THE UNIVERSE Astronomers believe that the Big Bang took place 13.7 billion years ago, and that galaxies began to form 1–2 billion years later. Our Solar System was not created until about 4.6 billion years ago, with primitive single-celled life appearing on Earth about 1 billion years later. It was not until around 600 million years ago that an explosion of life occurred, in the Cambrian Period of Earth’s history. The first dinosaurs evolved 230 million years ago, and man’s earliest ancestors just 4 million years ago. THE MOMENT OF EXPLOSION The Big Bang created an incredibly hot Universe a fraction of the size of an atom. It immediately started to cool and expand, for a brief moment growing at a tremendous rate, in a process called inflation. In less than a millisecond, the first matter was created but, for thousands of years, the Universe was dominated by radiation. THE FIRST THREE MINUTES The first forms of matter created were the tiniest and most basic particles of matter, such as quarks. Scientists today try to recreate what happened by smashing particles in a particle accelerator and studying the tracks. As the Universe cooled, these particles combined to form protons and neutrons, which later joined to form the nuclei of atoms. ATOMS After 300,000 years, nuclei began to capture electrons and form the first atoms. This cosmic microwave map reveals what the Universe was like after 380,000 years. The red and yellow areas are slightly warmer than the blue and green ones and area sign that matter was clumping. THE UNIVERSE TAKES SHAPE As matter was drawn together by gravity, the first stars and galaxies were born. This Hubble Space Telescope picture shows galaxies 2.2 billion light years away, and many more remote galaxies beyond. The gravity of the cluster, including its invisible DARK MATTER , act like a lensto magnify the images of the more distant galaxies. THE EVOLVING UNIVERSE The composition of the ....Universe continues to change. These two galaxies are colliding, and flinging out streams of stars. The Universe is also still expanding. Because of an effect called REDSHIFT , astronomers know that almost all galaxies are accelerating away from each other. Itis not the galaxies themselves that expand–they are held together by gravity–but the vast distances between the galaxies. REDSHIFT By analysing the spectrum of light from a star or galaxy, astronomers can tell how fast it is moving, and whether it is moving towards or away from Earth. If an object is moving away from Earth, its light shifts to longer, redder wavelengths, an effect known as redshift. We know the Universe is expanding as almost all galaxies show redshift, and are rushing apart. DARK MATTER The Universe is made up of matter and energy. Stars and galaxies are forms of matter that we can see. But there are also forms of matter that we cannot see, called dark matter. We know that dark matter exists because of the effects of its gravity. Astronomers believe that dark matter might account for up to 90 per cent of the matter in the Universe.

MATTER IN THE UNIVERSE Looking up at the heavens, we see matter in the form of stars, planets, and in the glowing clouds of gas and dust known as nebulas. These are visible forms of matter. However, astronomers believe that over 90 percent of the Universe is made up of invisible matter, known as dark matter. OUR PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE The Earth we live on seems big and very important to us. But in the Universe as a whole, it is a tiny, and very insignificant, speck of rock. To put things into perspective, Earth is just a small planet in the Solar System, part of a family of bodies that circle round the Sun. The Solar System measures about 1 light year across. OUR GALAXY The Sun is one of around 200 billion stars in the Galaxy, our local star island in space. Nagpur university Engineering results todelay further

NAGPUR: It seems Nagpur University has failed to learn from last year's fiasco when delay in declaring results had led to large-scale protests and subsequently deferring of entire engineering faculty examinations. This year, too, results of many exams , includingthose of first and second semesters, are yet to be declared even after two months of the papers, claimed students. Though NU PRO Prashant Mohite couldn't be contacted for comments, sources from NU disclosed that lecturers, especially from engineering and technology faculty, were unwilling to do evaluation work that is mandatory as per Section 32(5)(g) of Maharashtra Universities Act , 1994. A majorityof them were not reporting for evaluation duties even after several reminders and none of them responded to NU notices inthis regard. These lectures reportedly work for renowned engineering colleges like Yashwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) and Kavi Kulguru Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Ramtek. Citing an example of digital image processing subject whosepaper was conducted on January10, sources stated that it was yetto be evaluated. Sources added that so far NU hasmanaged to declare results of only sixth, eight and a couple of branches of third semesters. They claimed that the lecturers were daring to take on the university as they are well aware that their college managements, which are led by powerful politicians and education barons,will not allow the NU administration to take any concrete action. In fact, NU administration and even vice chancellor Vilas Sapkal can punish these 'adamant' lecturers by cancelling their 'approved teacher' status for failing to report for mandatory duties. But never in history has NU taken such extreme action, especially against the engineering lecturers, thus indirectly encouraging them to skip the mandatory duties. It is learnt, even their principals were fully supporting them by asking them to report to the college. Sources claimed that even NU's Board of Examinations (BoE), the apex body for all exam work, hadfailed to take action against suchteachers as all its members were also among the teaching faculty and they will never approve any punishments against their counterparts. They informed thatdue to deferring of last year's winter exams, entire timetable ofengineering faculty was severely disrupted and now, the summer exams would have to be postponed beyond June as most of the results were yet to be out. This will further increase hardships for the students as their results will be declared by September, they added.

WEB DESIGNING TRICKS The Web is a visual medium. An effectively designed Web site must wow, tease, and compel your audience to step in and explore what you have to offer. To create an effective web site, you must first understand the basic rules governing Web design. Here I've given few ideas to create a good web site. Remember the purpose of your web site - Now this seems obvious but I've been to quite a few sites where I was able to find dancing gifs and cute little sayings but not the information I was looking for. Images and other extras are good for your site as long as they contribute to its purpose and not distract from it. Make it easy - Make sure your site is easy to navigate. If your visitors have to spend to much time trying to find things they will go elsewhere. Remember the limitations of your visitors - Not everyone has the top of the line computer, latest browser of high speed internet connection. Keep these people in mind when setting up a sight. Always make large images optional - Large images take more time to download. Always use smaller images with a link to the larger one if people want to wait. Never use music - Everyone has different tastes and while you may think that having pink Floyd or Garth Brooks playing for your visitor when they enter your site is cool, most will find it annoying and leave. Avoid tacky backgrounds - Don't use a tiled image background or a bright glaring color, it is too hard on the eyes. Site name - Choosing a name for your site is important. It needs to be individual, unique, reflect the content and purpose of the site, and be short, snappy and memorable. Site structure - Your web site can be as small or as large as you want it to be - it's up to you. Some sites consists of just one page (the home page), others consist of hundreds of pages. The object of a web site is to attract as many people as possible. If you're going for more than one page, think of your web site as a building - the more rooms it has the more interesting and attractive it will be to more people who will be attracted by the content of a particular room. You will need: Home page - this will be the normal entrance to the site which announces you, your web site and your message. Core pages - the ones with the meat, the important information. Special interest pages - each covers a specific angle. Doorway pages - these are designed specifically to attract Internet surfers. Using the analogy of a building, then unlike a modern building where you want to channel everyone in and out of the front door - for security purposes - with a web site you want to create as many doors (entrances) as possible. Each page (doorway) is another opportunity to be found in the search engines. At the bottom of each doorway page, the person is invited to visit the main page or other pages. Improving your ranking with the search engines - Research suggests that for surfers to find your site it must appear within the first three pages of the results returned by the search engine. Usually, this means in the top 30 sites listed. Aim always for the top ten. You can improve your rankings in the search engine by using keywords in the form of HTML meta tags. Meta tags are NOT a magic solution - they're just one component in your visibility strategy. Finally, don't be in too much of a hurry to register your site. Get it set up and make it rich with content first.

The Stolen Wealth of India During British Rule

Everyone knows the history of India. But not all know how much wealth it gave to this world. I don’t mean the literature and culture it taught to this world. I mean the wealth, the money, the gold and diamonds stolen, looted by the British rulers, when they ruled India for nearly 200years. During the mid of 1770’s, the western countries, especially Britain had Industrial revolution and it was completely financed by the money looted from India. EvenWilliam Digby and British historian agreed that without the “Venture Capital” which was looted from Bengal, the Industrial Revolution might not have happened. In 1957, the Battle of Plassey happenedamong the Nawab of Bengal and British rulers. But Robert Clive defeated the effort of evicting the British rule. Duringthis battle, Bengal got looted completely. The looted money and wealth were then showered in the industrial revolution, which helped in the inventions like “The spinning Jenny” in the year 1764, “The water Frame”,a machine to spin cotton threads in the year 1769, “TheSteam Engine” in the year 1785 and a lot lot more. Apart from financing the British people to develop their inventions and economy, the wealth of India helped Americans also to grow economically. During 19th century, USA levied heavy and stiff tariffs on any goods imported from Britain. Since Britain didn’t have any problem for wealth and money, as it was flowing from India, which they absorbed completely, they didn’t care about the high taxes. So, the prosperity of India was sharedwith America also by the British rulers. One more Englishman mentioned in his note about India, “Even after sucking the entire wealth of India, our government is still giving moresufferings to the people of India by forcing them to buy their products like dresses which they wove by the inventions sponsored by Indian money. How people of hot country can wear a dress woven for a cold country like England?” and so on… Anglophiles’ note of apology says “British colonial rule in India was the organized banditry that financed England’s Industrial Revolution”. The British rulers even took over the technology of India, along with money. Will Durant, an American Historian mentioned in his note “India was flourishing in Ship building besides the expertise of making steel and textiles. But all got ruined when British took over those technologies”. Only few know that the birth place of the world famous Kohinoor diamond (which means Mountain of Light), which is currently a part of theRoyal British Crown Jewels, is India. This 105 carat diamond was the largest one at that time and it was kept by various Mughal Emperors. But it was later looted by the East Indian Company, which was then gifted to Queen Victoria when she was declared as “Empress of India” in the year 1877. Roughly it has been estimated as 1.8 Trillion Dollars of moneythat was looted by the British rulers in that 200 years of brutal ruling of India, apart from some other wealth like gold, diamonds and raw materials which got transported out of India in 700 Ships and made India from a Developed Nation to a “Developing Country“. LAPTOP USERS: BE AWARE!

A couple lost their 25 year old son in a fire at home on June 4th.The son who had graduated withMBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madis on two weeks earlier had come home for a while. He had lunch with his dad at home and decided to go back to clean up his hostel room. His father told him to wait, to meet his mother, before he went back for a few days. He decided to takea nap while waiting for his mom to come back home from work. Some time later their neighbors called 911 when they saw black smoke coming out of the house. Unfortunately, the 25 years old died in the three year old house. It took several days of investigation to find out the cause of the fire. It was determined that the fire was caused by the laptop resting on the bed. When the laptop was on the bed cooling fan did not get the air to cool the computer and that is what caused the fire. He did not even wake up to get out of the bed because he died of breathing in carbon monoxide. The reason I am writing this to allof you is that I have seen many ofus and also our brothers& sisters sons&daughters friends&family using the laptop while in bed. Let us all decide and make it a practice not to do that. The risk isreal. Let us make it a rule not to use the laptop on bed with blankets and pillows around. Please educate as many people asyou can.

लहानपणी आकाशातले तारे मोजण्याचा 'प्रयत्न' केलाय का कधी... I'm sure आपल्यातल्या प्रत्येकाने असा प्रयत्न एकदातरी केलाय... कारण लहानपणी ना एखादी गोष्ट होऊशकत नाही असं आपल्याला कोणी शिकवलेलं नसतं... त्यावेळी संपूर्ण आभाळ आपलं असतं... पण जसं जसं आपण मोठे होतो तसं तसं काय काय होऊ शकत नाही हे आपल्या मनावर गिरवण्याचा उठाठोप सुरु होतो... आणि "प्रयत्नांती परमेश्वर" म्हणणारी हीच बुद्धिवंत मंडळी आपल्याला, आकाशातले तारे कुठे मोजता येतात का, वेडा ... असं म्हणून "वेड्यात" काढते... मग नंतर आपणही लोकं काय म्हणतील या भीतीने 'प्रयत्न' सुद्धा करणं टाळतो !!

तुझ्याबद्दल काही लिहिण्याइतपत मी मोठा नाही... माझी तेवढी ऐपत ही नाही... तुझं माझ्या जीवनातलं स्थान हे शब्दांच्या पलीकडले आहे... तरीपण कधी कधी काही भावनांना तोंडाद्वारे वाट फुटत नाही अश्यावेळी मग शेवटी शब्दांचाच सहारा घ्यावा लागतो.. आई... आई म्हटलं की मला तीनच गोष्टी कळतात... 'आ'युष्य, 'अ'र्थ आणि 'ई'श्वर ... शब्दांना असो की आयुष्याला जोपर्यंत त्यांना 'अ'र्थ लाभत नाही तोपर्यंत ते निरर्थकच राहतात, पण जेंव्हा त्यांना 'अ'र्थ लाभतो तेंव्हा शब्दांची 'कविता' अन आयुष्याचं 'जीवन' होतं.. आई तु फक्त मला जन्म नाही दिलास... माझ्या 'आ'युष्याला 'अ'र्थ देऊन मला 'जीवन' देणारी सुद्धा तुच... आणि 'ई'श्वर तर मी कधी प्रत्यक्ष पाहिलाच नाही... इतरांसारखं मला दगडात देव पाहता आलं नाही म्हण की मग मलाकधी तशी गरजच पडली नाही म्हण... कारण जेंव्हा जेंव्हा मला तशीगरज भासली तेंव्हा तेंव्हा माझ्याकडे, माझ्यासाठी, तु होतीस आई.. देवांनी पण काय.. रंग वाटून घेतलेत... पण एक तूच जीनी मला निरपेक्ष प्रेम करायला शिकवलं... बाकी बाहेर जगात तर काय सगळं ' व्यावहारिकचं'.. त्याच व्यावहारिक जगात जातांना मग या घाबरलेल्या बिथरलेल्या जीवाला हाथ पडून धीर देणारी सुद्धा तूच आई... तूच मला जगायला शिकवलस, तूच मला परिस्थितीशी लढायला शिकवलस... कोणातरी आपल्यासाठी जीव ओतून जगणंही मला तूच शिकवलस... म्हणून माझ्यासाठी ईश्वर सुद्धा तूच आहेस आई... म्हणून माझ्यासाठी ईश्वर सुद्धा तूच आहेस आई !!!!

Most of us have an image in our minds about how we would like our prospective partner to look like, even detailing minor details such as the color of the hair and the eyes. Some of the people say, it is not the matter of saying or expressing, but just of feeling; it is just a flavor, which you can only taste, not tell to anyone, while other describe that the more you express, less. Whatever is there, but most of the couples believe that having something great for someone is a starting of great relation. Are you also one, who finds any thing like the starting of love? You must come to chaise the following; in order to know whether it is love or something else. People don’t chaise the philosophy; they know it’s hard. Probably, that’s why they just want to be in real world. What happens initially, as males see someone with coral lips, rosy cheeks or star like eyes or females find a handsome, stylish or muscleman, they start imagining. This is not bad; it’s true that both attract to each other. But dear, it’s only an attraction, not love. Love is something that occurs itself. You never need to think or imagine about that; suddenly, without any extra effort, someone will come out of crowd for you. Don’t believe? All right, I’m going to try with an example of my friend: My friend jack is a tourism advisor and has an attractive...personality. You all know that tourism is a profession, where you meet several different kinds of people. He shared with me that one day, a well-figured girl, around 25, came to him for professional purpose; they talked for a long time later. Here, a new and exciting relation started. They are continuing on dates today also, although, later they came to know that both are married. He says that he knows it’s bad, and she isn’t in love with him, still he is unable to say her‘good buy’. She also doesn’t have any problem, and they both come close to each other, whenever they need. The above is what often occurs with the people. But this example may help you to realize that it’s not what you understand. Attraction also has a strong existence, but it doesn’t create a relationship that has the right elements to grow up happily forever. There is something missing. Yes, it is the lack ness of something what you want to feel; the trust, you search. Actually, attraction and love both are caused by the different hormones. Attraction is something, which may occur at first look generally called‘love at first sight’and may turn into love, later; but the feeling of love takes time. There is something unknown, which inspires you to faith in one. This is not the matter of mind, but of heart. Of course, it occurs when all the colors of one’s rainbow match to another one’s.
