Cat fanciers in Europe and North America have since bredtheSphynx or hairless cat to normalcoated cats and then back to hairless. The Sphynx is not always totally hairless. Some havea fine down on the body, which gives their skin the texture of a warm peach. Light hair is often present on the nose, tail and toes. Since they have no fur for protection, Sphynx cats feel very cold in winter and have to kept inside the house forwarmth.
